Clouds Porcelain is a family owned pottery started 33 years ago by G.F. and Penny Cloud here on Sutter Street. Our Gallery and Studio were consolidated into the "big red barn" just 1/2 block North of Sutter at the top of the Riley/Scott parking lot.
We thow 70% of our work on the wheel and we cast 30% in our own molds. All our work is lead free and great in the oven and dishwasher. All is handpainted with food safe colors.
Some of the best most experienced potters in the country work with us here and potters from all over the country visit us regularly to learn about our techniques and see our state of the art studio.
We only sell at our store in Folsom and on the internet now, having closed our Arden Fair store in 1995 and our San Francisco store in 1999.
We were featured in a PBS documentary in 2004 called "Clouds, an American Original" and a channel 6 Viewfinder special in 2006 by the same Name. Copies are available at the gallery and excepts are on "Youtube."

Several times a year we haul out our minor mistakes and sell them off at incredible prices...it is a major event with lots of people timing their California vacations to coincide with the sales.
There are several large and several small seasonal sales each year as well.
