Construction for the Sutter
Street revitalization project began in February 2010
when Teichert Construction was awarded an $8.4 million
dollar contract, which included the removal of the median
strip, trees and shed roofs; construction of new traffic
lanes, sidewalks and on-street parking; installation
of new water and sewer infrastructure; and the addition
of ADA ramps and other accessibility improvements.
The Sutter Street Revitalization project reached substantial
completion in December 2010. All underground utilities
have been installed. Please visit and enjoy our new widened
sidewalks and on street parking. The finishing touches,
including landscaping and the installation of new store
front facades, are being installed now with final completion
scheduled for May 2011.
A huge celebration is scheduled for early May and all
are invited.

While construction is happening, businesses are open
and convenient, free parking is available. Please take
advantage of the newly-built 315 spaced parking garage,
located at Reading and Leidesdorff streets. Temporary
street closures may be needed, but detour signage will
lead you where you need to go.
Visit often and watch our transformation! For additional
information about the project, visit City
of Folsom’s website.
