We connected with Dottie Matheson to learn more about Artfully Rooted Marketplace at 608 1/2 Sutter Street.
What is Artfully Rooted, how would you describe it to a friend?
We are a group of artists, artisans, collectors, and dreamers that provide an Eclectic Mix of Artistic Decor.
Why did you start the business? What do you hope to accomplish?
To provide a place where the small business can have a boutique within a marketplace and sell their art/creations, etc.What's something you wish people knew about your business?
That we have something for everyone.
What is a common question you get or what is your most popular product or service?
Too soon to say. We only just recently opened.
What's the biggest compliment you've received?
That our store is clean, bright and open and that we have a nice selection of items and that customers feel welcome when coming in.
Are you involved with or do you support any local nonprofits, community organizations or causes?
None at this time. But we will allow nonprofits to put up posters in our storefront.
Why did you choose to be in the Historic District?
The locals, the location, and the fact that merchants work together.
Are you a member of the chamber or any other networking organizations?
Not yet but I will be joining.
Do you have any upcoming events, specials or new products/services that people should know about?
Yes, our grand opening sale is happening on July 28th (10:30am to 8pm) with a band, various performers, refreshments and free raffle, and live artist painting.
