Community Tree Lighting

December 1, 2023: 6-9pm

Mark your calendar for Historic Folsom’s Community Christmas Tree Lighting.

Come and join the festivities as we illuminate the annual community Christmas tree at the heart of the Folsom Ice Rink, nestled in the Plaza.  The entire district is free from vehicle traffic and is magically transformed into a scene resembling a Christmas Village, with activities spreading from the Plaza all the way up Historic Sutter Street.

The charm of Historic Folsom attracts thousands of attendees year after year.  The event is jam-packed with fun interactive event booths, music, Santa visits, ice skating, kids activities, food trucks, and performances by local community groups.

Tree Lighting event parking is limited.  Expect road closures and a large number of attendees.

To make things easy we've partnered with SacRT and arranged Free Rides to the event (see below).

Carriage Rides & Santa Visits

Dates will be posted soon

Santa will make special visits to the Historic District to visit with children and families.

Kids..you can meet Santa in the district.  Santa will chat with kids and their families while sitting on his throne in the plaza.  His sleigh is parked just off the intersection of Decatur and Sutter St.  You can't miss him.  There will also be FREE Carriage Rides, rides begin at Decatur and Sutter St.  Look for many special activities throughout Sutter Street on these very special weekends.

Special thank you to Bacchus House Wine Bar & Bistro for helping host Santa and Mrs Clause.

Christmas Magic Promenade

Thanksgiving through New years

Historic Folsom DECKS THE HALLS with Christmas Magic.

All of Sutter Street is covered in twinkling lights, a vision to be seen. Santa and Mrs. Clause stop by for visits in a horse-drawn wagon.

The Historic District transforms into a magical Christmas scene with pop-up carolers and even occasional snowfall. Visitors from near and far come to the district to enjoy a little bit of Christmas joy and celebrate with family and friends.
